The second presentation of the day is from our very own MD, Gordon Pratt. Gordon presents the aims and benefits of KenEX Tram, illustrating how KenEx could absorb 30% population growth expected in North Kent region, while reducing local & strategic road network congestion within the Dartford crossing area. Touching on regional deprivation, highlighting how affordable there system is, how it will provide reliable connectivity to work, education and recreation – essentially a catalyst to the levelling up agenda within the region – all without the need of car ownership!
Our third presentation is from Brad Read of TIG/m
Sustainable energy powering the future of trams. Brad shares with us a mixture of propulsion methods employed on his trams that have been in service around the world in recent years. Covering Green generation of hydrogen, energy storage at the difference stages of the process with insight into fuel cells that provide a complete days worth of on board power! Demonstrating the benefits of remote condition based monitoring using the latest networking technologies for depot’s and TIG/m, ensuring the best up time for their trams. A modular approach to tram design has enabled TIG/m to come up with some very exciting looking trams while being versatile to the clients needs.
